Lincoln Center Brings Rodgers & Hammerstein Celebration To Kensington Library Tomorrow, August 16
The Kensington library (4207 18th Avenue) will play host to Lincoln Center Local’s celebration of the legendary musical theatre writing team Rodgers and Hammerstein this Saturday, August 16, at 2pm.
Lincoln Center Local recently kicked off the initiative to bring world-class performances to libraries across Brooklyn at the New Utrecht library, where Sasha Papernik and her band wowed the audience with some of her soulful originals, American songbook standards, and more.
During Saturday’s performance, which is free and open to everyone, Rodgers and Hammerstein – the incredibly influential musical team that together created some of the most well-known musicals in U.S. history – will be celebrated with music from “South Pacific,” “The Sound of Music,” “State Fair,” “The King And I,” “Carousel and Oklahoma!” and more.
