In what will come as no surprise to the chic men of Clinton Hill, Business Insider has named Leisure Life NYC (559 Myrtle Avenue between Emerson and Classon Avenues) one of the 25 coolest new business in Brooklyn. In a recent article, the publication lauds Charnier Corey’s classic masculine boutique not only for its apparel and ambiance, but also for the special care taken to ensure a true shopping experience for every client. Says Business Insider:

Leisure Life NYC creates a unique retail experience that’s geared toward professional men who enjoy a rugged look and lifestyle. Clothing and accessories air on the vintage side, and are curated from the store’s own in-house brand products as well as lesser-known progressive brands. The shopping experience comes with complimentary beer or vodka and DJ’ed music.

Leisure Life makes the shortlist along with artisanal pickle and ice cream joints in Gowanus (actually, a lot of stuff in Gowanus), and bars in Crown Heights, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint, among others–but you’ll notice it’s the only actual full time clothing store on the list.

This isn’t the first time Business Insider has praised Leisure Life; just last month, the store was also named one of their 28 coolest new businesses in all of New York City. But at a time when everyone wants to capitalize on Brooklyn brand–one of the other shops on the top 25 list is By Brooklyn, after all, which sells exclusively borough-made products–it seems like this more recent title might be the bigger honor.

Leisure Life also got a lovely writeup in The New York Times in July–one among a slew of recent articles on the shop by online and print publications ranging as far away as Japan. All in all, not bad coverage for a store that only opened just over a year ago.
