Learn How To Pen A Memoir At A Free Workshop With Author Donna Minkowitz This Saturday
Get out your pens, neighbors!
This Saturday, June 27, from 2-4pm, you can learn how to write about your life at a free memoir workshop with the award-winning author Donna Minkowitz at the Windsor Terrace Library (160 E. 5th Street, at Fort Hamilton Parkway).
A former columnist at The Village Voice, Minkowitz will help neighbors translate their memories into something that everyone will want to read.
The library stated on its website:
Memoir writers sometimes worry whether their experiences are universal enough to interest others. Though people’s lives differ greatly, human feelings and needs are universal. We’ll explore ways to use emotion, our five senses, and creative insight to craft memoir pieces any reader can identify with.
Minkowitz is well versed in the art of memoir writing, having taught it for more than 17 years, and she has also written for The New York Times Book Review, Salon, New York magazine, Ms., The Nation, and more.
The workshop is open to all adults. Participants can register at the library’s website or by calling 718-686-9707.
