Learn About Jobs, Internships, College & More At The CB 14 Youth Conference On Wednesday, April 29
For our neighbors who are 12 to 19 years old who’d like to learn about college, job opportunities, volunteering, and more, next Wednesday, April 29, from 4-7pm, is Community Board 14’s 8th annual youth conference — an always wildly successful event that draws hundreds of students to the Brooklyn College Student Center (1 Campus Road on the corner of E. 27th Street).
The conference, which is free, connects local young people with employers non-profits and city agencies, career advisors, college admissions reps, and more. Plus, there will be workshops covering a wide range of topics that will be helpful for teens entering the job market.
There is a huge list of organizations participating in the conference, including Black Girls Code, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office, Brooklyn Music School, Councilman Jumaane Williams, the FDNY, Nontraditional Employment for Women, the New York Aquarium, the Prospect Park Zoo, Reel Works, and a ton more — all of which you can see listed here.
While the event is free, you’re encouraged to register and connect with organizers beforehand about how they can best help you during the conference. To register, please go here.
