Last Weekend To Celebrate Oktoberfest!
This is the last weekend to experience a bit of the German celebration of Oktoberfest in Park Slope as the annual festival winds down. A few local spots have been running specials and hosting parties, so if you’re looking for a cold glass of beer, a bit of sausage, and even some singing, here’s where you should be.
Mission Dolores, 249 4th Avenue
Saturday, October 5 & Sunday, October 6, 12-8pm
Celebrate the season’s best drinking holiday at Mission Dolores, where there will be Oktoberfest beers, pumpkin ales, ciders, and special Gravity Cask tappings (in addition to the usual impressive and wacky craft beers they have on tap). Best of all? Der Kommissar will be in the courtyard grilling up sausages to order.
Die Koelner Bierhalle, 84 St. Marks Place
Saturday, October 5 & Sunday, October 6, 3pm-close
From Park Slope’s first (and only?) authentic German beer hall, the festivities include a live German band and dancers, face painting, a Stein holding contest, an Oktoberfest surprise, and — of course — plenty of beer. Check the full lineup here.
