Last Day To Propose Ideas For Participatory Budgeting
Do you have an idea for the community that you want funded through Participatory Budgeting? Today is the last day to submit it on the participatory budgeting (PBNYC) map. The map is the second stage of brainstorming for how to spend $1 million in discretionary funds from Council member Mathieu Eugene’s 2016-2017 budget.
Some of the current suggestions include a major upgrade to Lt. Federico Narvaez Tot Lot on Cortelyou Road, building a second floor at the Cortelyou Library branch, and beautifying Newkirk Plaza.
Only a few of the suggested ideas can be funded and in a few months, the next stage in the budgeting process will ask the community to narrow down the list.
What do you think the $1 million should be used for?
