Housewarming: Notions of Home from the End of the Universe, the inaugural show at BRIC House (647 Fulton Street, enter on Rockwell Place) which includes work by neighbors Njideka Akunyili and Garry Nichols as well as 10 other Brooklyn artists, closes this Sunday, December 15.

Njideka Akunyili, who was born in Nigeria and educated in the United States, lives in Windsor Terrace.  In addition to her collage, acrylic and mixed media work exhibited at BRIC House, she was also involved in a group show this Fall at the Marianne Boesky Gallery and other London art spaces.

Garry Nichols, whose paintings are the featured murals behind the café bar at BRIC House, also has two other works in the exhibit. Now living in Ditmas Park and working out of Greenpoint, Garry hails originally from Tasmania, where he moonlighted as a water diviner. His murals have just been handed a reprieve, and will be on display until February.

BRIC House is open 10am-8pm Tuesday through Sunday, so stop in and see works by our neighbors before they disappear.
