Dead Body Found in Williamsburg’s La Guardia Playground
WILLIAMSBURG – A body was discovered in a North Brooklyn playground yesterday evening, police confirmed.
Around 5:30 pm on Monday, August 6, police received a 911 call reporting an unconscious man in Williamsburg’s La Guardia playground. The body was located near Havermeyer and South 5th Streets, on the south side of the playground, which is bisected by the approach to the Williamsburg Bridge from the BQE.
Arriving at the scene, police found EMS providing emergency care to an unconscious and unresponsive 61-year old man. Soon after, EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The manner and cause of the man’s death will be determined by the medical examiner, and an investigation is underway.
The name of the deceased has been withheld pending family notification.
