Korzo Owner Opening New Restaurant, Sekt, On 5th Avenue

Korzo owner Otto Zizak confirmed Wednesday that he is opening a new restaurant at 651 5th Avenue (between 18th and 19th Street), formerly occupied by El Rincon Familiar.

The restaurant, Sekt (which means a German sparkling wine), will feature small farm-to-table plates, with a bit of a Central European influence. Otto says that we can look for a nice blending of vegetarian and cured meat options.

As the name suggests, there will be a number of sparkling wines available, all under $10. The goal, Otto says, is to make the restaurant, “fancy, but accessible.”

If all goes as planned, Sekt should open the first week in October.
