South Korean Franchise Caffe Bene Poised To Launch In Brooklyn — Including Bensonhurst’s 18th Avenue

Caffe Bene, a global coffee and dessert franchise based in South Korea, has arrived in New York and it’s about to take Brooklyn by storm.

One of the company’s first Brooklyn locations is set to open on Bensonhurst’s 18th Avenue next month, right next door to one of its competitors, Dunkin’ Donuts. The coffee shop will be located at 6307 18th Avenue, formerly Chen’s Discount Store.

The global coffee maker has more than 1,600 locations around the world, including several in Manhattan and Queens, and is on the verge of opening at least 36 more stores across the five boroughs and Long Island, according to Caffe Bene’s website. The company recently finished building a location on 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge, reports Bay Ridge Beat.

In addition to desserts and espresso drinks, Caffe Bene specializes in bubble tea and a grain-based drink called misugaru, which is high in nutritional value but low in calories. The caffeine-free, wholegrain additive also comes as a powder that can be mixed with hot or cold espresso drinks.

As far as food goes, Caffe Bene serves a variety of sweet and savory dishes, including sandwiches and Belgium waffles topped with gelato, yogurt, and fruit.

We stopped by the Bensonhurst store today to check out the progress, and the space was coming along nicely. The facade was still in pretty rough shape, but a peek inside revealed that one of Caffe Bene’s iconic chandeliers had already been installed. A supervisor outside told us the store is expected to be complete by mid-July.

Welcome to the neighborhood Caffe Bene, and good luck!
