Knitting For Kids, A Business Class & More At The Kensington Library This Week

There’s much happening at the Kensington Library (4207 18th Avenue), including a chance for kids to knit, a business English conversation class, and a workshop on information and services for immigrants.

Wednesday, October 22

  • Kids Create: Kids Knit Now! Children are invited to learn how to knit. Class size is limited, and you can pick up a ticket at the children’s reference desk. 4-5pm.

Thursday, October 23

  • ESOL Class. This free ESOL/Civics class is for adults 17 and older whose first language is not English. Beginner and intermediate classes are offered and are taught by experienced teachers. Registration is required. To learn more, call the library at 718-436-0545. 5-8pm.
  • Business English Class. This free business English conversation class aims to prepare individuals for success in the workplace. If you are an immigrant who is a business owner or exploring new career options, these classes are for you. Applicants will be screened for intermediate or advanced English proficiency. 6-8pm.

Friday, October 24

  • Brooklyn 101 Workshop: Information and Services for Immigrants.  Join the library for a series of workshops about services, resources and information available to immigrant communities in Brooklyn. Topics that will be covered include: how and where to enroll in English language programs, how to help your child in school, tenant rights and affordable housing, immigration legal assistance, and more. Interpretation available upon request in Russian, Spanish, Urdu and Bengali. 10am-12pm.
