Kids Can Get Groovy At Free 'Sunshine Days' Dance Program At The Cortelyou Library
Alden LaPaglia of Alden Moves Dance Theater is back at the Cortelyou Library (1305 Cortelyou Rd) with a grooving surfin’ safari to keep the kids moving this summer. On Tuesday, August 13, boys and girls ages 3-9 will dance through a cool summer playlist including Bob Marley, the Beach Boys, and the Beatles. This free Sunshine Days dance program “incorporates infectious music and fanciful explorations of rhythm, movement quality, and space,” says Alden, and it will feature a culminating exhibition dance for that’s a soulful take on summer.
Space is limited, so advanced registration is required for the 3- to 4-year-old (2:30pm) and 5- to 6-year-old (3:30pm) classes, and is suggested for the 7- to 9-year-old (4:30pm) class, which can be done online. Should the event sell out, contact aldenmoves@gmail.com to be placed on the waiting list.
