Kensington Weekend Events

Looking for something to do in the neighborhood this weekend? No need to travel too far for these events:

• Support the Brooklyn Public Library with Bike the Branches from 10am-5pm. The Windsor Terrace branch has a fun schedule of events!

• Support our schools in the PTA 5K at Prospect Park, 10am.

• Learn the skills of freshwater fishing from the Urban Park Rangers at Prospect Park. Meet at the Audubon Center at 12pm.

• Health fair, with health screenings, face painting, giveaways, and more at 446 McDonald Ave, 12-3pm. [via KARMA]

• The South Brooklyn Queers monthly meetup will be held at Lark from 7-10pm, and welcomes neighbors 21 and over to hang out, drink beer and wine, and meet other LGBTQ folks in the ‘hood.

• Happy Mother’s Day! Treat mom to some pampering with a mani/pedi.

• Pick up a free tree at Compost for Brooklyn, 2-4pm.
