Kensington Library Wins ‘Building Brooklyn’ Award

Kensington Library Wins ‘Building Brooklyn’ Award

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce presented its Building Brooklyn Awards last night, and the Kensington Library was awarded in the Civic and Institutional category. Brooklyn Public Library owns the building, its architect was Sen Architects, its builder was Lanmark Group, and the NYC Dept. of Design and Construction was a partner in the project.

The library moved to the new space from its former Ditmas Ave location in November, 2012. The awarded Kensington Library was the first new building in the Brooklyn Public Library system in nearly 20 years, and is its first “green” library.

We know what a great building it is, and it’s nice to see it getting some recognition! If you haven’t checked it out yet, definitely give it a look at 4207 18th Avenue.
