Join The FDC’s Annual Victorian Flatbush House Tour This Sunday, June 7
If you’re anything like us, you’ve spent countless hours walking our neighborhood streets, gawking at the rows upon rows of incredible Victorian homes that fill our community. And come this Sunday, June 7, you’ll have a chance to learn about many of these houses — and even explore inside!
The Flatbush Development Corporation’s annual Victorian Flatbush House Tour will run from 1-6pm on Sunday, when you can take the self-guided event during which you’ll learn the history of our neighborhood homes, what it takes to restore and preserve the houses that were built more than 100 years ago, and more.
The tour will begin at Temple Beth Emeth (83 Marlborough Road, by Church Avenue), where you can pick up your tour map and guidebook with detailed descriptions of the homes. You can walk the entire route, or, if you get tired, you can hop on the shuttle bus that will be traveling the route.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 the day of the tour. For more information, go here, and to purchase tickets, you can go here. Please write “house tour ticket” in the “designate your donation to a specific program” field. Please note when purchasing your ticket you must select “Give my contact information to this charity” so your name is added to the event attendees list. If you make the donation anonymously, there will be no record that you purchased advanced tickets.
Advance tickets are also available at FDC, located at 1616 Newkirk Avenue, by E. 16th Street. You can either stop by or call 718-859-3800.
Advance ticket sales end at 3pm on Saturday, June 6. Please bring your receipt for the tickets with you to the tour.
To purchase tickets the day of the event, arrive at 1pm at Temple Beth Emeth (83 Marlborough Road).
The tour will be held rain or shine.
