Join The 78th Precinct For The National Night Out Against Crime
Get to know our local officers when the 78th Precinct hosts their 2014 National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 5 at Grand Army Plaza from 5-8pm.
Developed in 1984, National Night Out began as an effort to “promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and to send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.” It is celebrated annually across the country on the first Tuesday in August.
This is a great opportunity to show some community pride, so bring the family out, get to know the 78th — and its new Commanding Officer, Captain Frank DiGiacomo — and take a stand against neighborhood crime.
