Over at Brooklyn Grange Farm, which sits on the roof of a Yard building, Farm Managers are being sought for both the 1.5 acre Yard farm and the 1-acre Long Island City rooftop farm. Interested applicants should email info@brooklyngrangefarm.com with the subject line “Farm Manager Job Application” by Monday, February 8, with a cover letter and resume attached.

Each Farm Manager will report to the Head Farmer, and will be responsible for all day-to-day operations at their respective site, including directing staff, preparing beds, cultivating and harvesting field crops and greenhouse operations, planning and packing weekly wholesale orders and CSA shares, managing the compost program, coordinating with our sales director on the availability of wholesale crops, undertaking infrastructure projects and maintenance, and occasionally managing weekly farm stands.

Organized and energetic, the Farm Manager should set a brisk pace for their team and take pride in in completing all daily tasks. The Farm Manager should also continually demonstrate initiative in tending to the farm.
The Farm Manager is required to be on site five days a week, and available Monday through Saturday during the regular season (May through October), including many early mornings. The position affords a great deal of flexibility November through April.
