JASM Discount Furniture, 6418 20th Avenue, is moving to Bath Beach, and everything in the store must go.

The 4,800 square-foot showroom was sold for $3.2 million in February, according to Zillow data. The business will relocate to a smaller space at 1668 Bath Avenue later this summer, store employees confirmed. Everything in the discount furniture store will be deeply marked down all month long.

JASM is not the only large furniture showrooms in our area to close down recently. Prince Furniture (6805 18th Avenue), shuttered for good several months ago, leaving seven adjacent spaces vacant. Four 1665-square-foot adjacent stores are still available, each for $6000 per month.

These two closures leave two massive empty retail spaces on our main corridors. What do you think should replace the showrooms? A supermarket perhaps?
