J Train Thief Steals Along Brooklyn-Queens Border
CYPRESS HILLS – The NYPD is looking for a J train thief in a pattern of robberies targeting women on the Brooklyn-Queens border.
Both incidents took place on southbound J trains on Wednesday, November 8, with the suspect stealing property from straphangers then fleeing through the subway station.
First, at 12:45 pm, the thief grabbed an 18-year old woman by the face, stole her Apple Airpod earbuds, then fled into 111th Street Station in Richmond Hill.
Half an hour later, the thief struck again, grabbing the headphones off the head of a 39-year old woman and fleeing through the Cleveland Station in Cypress Hills.
Police have described the thief as a black man wearing a dark hoodie, a dark bubble jacket light blue jeans and white sneakers. The suspect can be seen on surveillance video below:
