Ivy Garden On 4th Avenue To Reopen Soon Following Renovations
For those who’ve been waiting for the convenient Ivy Garden to reopen following a renovation, it looks like you won’t have to wait much longer.
The 24-hour grocery located at 246 4th Avenue, on the corner of President Street, closed about a month ago, papering over the windows and posting a hand-written sign apologizing for “any inconvenience caused during renovation.” On that same note, it said the closure would run through May 1, though someone came in with a different marker and changed the date to this Monday, May 11.
One of the nicer spots in the area to grab some last-minute groceries or a six-pack after hopping off the train at Union, neighbors welcomed the space with some enthusiasm when it opened about four years ago. Since then, the mega Whole Foods opened nearby — and, while not the same thing exactly, perhaps that’s filled some of the needs for people during the past month.
But if not, got any other go-to markets or bodegas along this stretch of 4th Avenue?
