It’s A Dog’s World Now Offering Raw Food, Free Delivery, Training & More
Pet parents, rejoice! It’s a Dog’s World, the pet supplies and services store formerly at 593 Coney Island Avenue, is now offering delivery of raw and natural food for pets, plus services including dog walking, training, and cat sitting.
Mother and son team Marion Weiner and Vinny Turturice (who feed their own dogs, above, a raw food diet) decided to make their products available again since neighborhood cat and dog owners were having trouble finding them elsewhere. They’ll be delivering food (including Primal, Bravo, Stella and Chewy’s, and more) for free anywhere in Brooklyn with a $20 minimum order, as well as surrounding boroughs with a $10 delivery fee. Vinny explains what makes raw food exceptional:
Raw meat, bones, fruits, and vegetables are emphasized in a raw diet. Benefits include shinier coats, healthier skin and teeth, higher energy, and less stool (something that really shows just how much more efficient a raw diet can be). At first glance, it seems that raw food is far more expensive, and though it is a bit more costly, as well as more inconvenient, you end up having to feed your dog less of it than dry or wet because the nutrient value is so much greater.
However, he clarifies raw diets aren’t for all pets, including older animals who have eaten dry food their entire lives–and he’s not interested in excluding anyone from It’s A Dog’s World’s services. He’ll also be carrying healthy dry and wet foods, as well as toys, supplements, and medication with advance notice.
In addition to products and delivery, Marion is an experienced Karen Pryor-certified dog trainer.
