20-Year-Old Man Killed At Walt Whitman Houses

Earlier this afternoon, at 2pm Thursday, February 19, police say a 20-year-old man was found shot in the stomach at 101 North Portland Avenue — the Walt Whitman Houses — and was rushed to Brooklyn Hospital, where he died of his injury. Police are investigating the incident and are asking the public for any leads.

There have been no arrests yet.

[Update at 10:30pm:] The young man has been identified as Kevin Colon, a resident of the building he was found inside.
