A 10-month old infant died last night after drowning in a bathtub at a Carroll Gardens home, police confirmed this morning.

The incident took place Sunday, November 6 at approximately 8:30pm in an apartment at 722 Henry Street, near the corner of West 9th Street.

The New York Post reported the baby girl was taken to Methodist Hospital in Park Slope and pronounced dead about one hour later.

A police spokesperson said the cause of death was under investigation, and could not say if the parents will be charged with negligence or any other crime.

“They are good people they would never do anything to hurt a child,” the owner of a nearby convenience store told the Post.
