Indulge Your Sweet Tooth While Supporting Flatbush Farm Share At Tonight’s Bake Sale
The Flatbush Reformed Church is holding a bake sale tonight, from 6-8pm, and all proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Flatbush Farm Share – a local CSA that aims to “make local, organic produce available to any Brooklyn resident, regardless of economic status,” as the group states on its website.
The church is located at Flatbush and Church Avenue, and you can enter at Church Avenue and East 21st Street.
The bake sale, which will offer a variety of home-baked goodies, will help the farm share that is entirely volunteer-run and which operates from June to October and again from November to January.
The Flatbush Farm Share partners with the New York City Coalition Against Hunger, and its main farm partners is the Farm at Miller’s Crossing – an organic, family-owned operation outside of Hudson, New York.
At the bake sale, the church will also be collecting electronics, including inkjet and toner cartridges, cell phones and pagers, iPods and mp3 players, digital and video cameras, iPads and tablets, e-readers, handheld video games, calculators, and GPS and radar.
