Increased Service Starts On The G Line Today

Last year we heard a promise of more G train service, and holy smokes here it is! Starting today, the MTA will increase G train service by 25% during weekday afternoons and rush hour, according to Gothamist.

As previously mentioned, that means your wait time between G trains will drop from 10 minutes to eight minutes on weekdays between 3-9pm.

Gothamist notes that in addition to the extra trains, the 12 stations on the G line that currently don’t have P.A. systems will be getting them, and the MTA is going to make sure the short four-car G trains stop at the same point on the platform, so you don’t have to make a run for it.
