Ice Cream Is Evil?
That’s what some parents on the other side of Prospect Park apparently think. According to the Post, a few people on the Park Slope Parents listerv were all in a huff over vendors selling ice cream and Italian ice at the Harmony Playground near the 9th Street entrance to Prospect Park.
Parents are upset because they don’t want to have to “fight with [their] children every warm day on the playground just so someone can make a living!” As a result, some parents are calling for a ban on the sweet vendors in the park, which is something that comes up over there every once in a while.
We’ve got quite a few vendors stationed on our side of Prospect Park, too, and near playgrounds at the Parade Ground, PS 139, and PS 217. So do you think banning them is the answer, or do you think there’s an alternative?
