Hurricane Relief: How About a Catskills Vacation?

Hurricane Relief: How About a Catskills Vacation?

We’ve been posting volunteer opportunities since massive Superstorm Sandy paid us an unwelcome visit. Here’s something for those who remain displaced by the storm.

Last year, Frost Valley YMCA was devastated by Hurricane Irene. Volunteers from New Jersey and New York came to their aid. This year, they’re paying it back, and are offering support to families in need. They’ve set aside dates for directly affected families to go to the Catskills and enjoy their facilities. They have hot showers, home cooked meals, and warm beds.

Weekends:
November 16-18
November 30-December 2
December 7-9

What’s more, they’re having a Thanksgiving celebration for families unable to put together a Thanksgiving meal. Families can stay from November 16-21 or November 19-21.

Contact reservations to register for any of the above weekends by emailing reservations@frostvalley.org or calling 845-985-2291 ext. 205.

If you are interested in supporting Frost Valley YMCA’s Sandy relief efforts, you can contact Lianne McElhone at lmcelhone@frostvalley.org or 845-985-2291 ext. 295, or send donations to:
