Hugo & Sons Restaurant Coming Soon To Long-Vacant Storefront On 7th Avenue
A long-shuttered corner storefront on 7th Avenue is about to get new life, as an Italian restaurant prepares to open there soon.
The gates have been removed from 367 7th Avenue, at the corner of 11th Street, revealing large windows that read things like “classic pastas” and “choice meats” at the top. It’s looking lovely, and it’s the new space of Hugo & Sons, which, according to the preliminary menus on its website, will be an Italian restaurant featuring pizzas, pastas, and more, plus they’ll be doing brunch. There’s also a “cafe menu,” which has some lighter fare, and you can preview a wine list.
It looks like they’re planning to be open Monday-Friday 5-11pm, Friday-Saturday 5pm-12am, and Sunday 5pm-10pm.
No word yet on an opening date, but we’ll keep you posted, and be sure to follow them on Facebook for updates, where you can also check out a great old photo of what this corner used to look like in 1941 — there was a meat market!
Editor’s note, 4/13/15: This post has been edited to remove the menus — the chef tells us those were merely preliminary and they’re likely to change, but he’s looking forward to sharing them once they’re complete, so we’ll keep you posted!
