How To Watch NY1’s Gentile Vs. Donovan Debate Live Tomorrow

Congressional hopefuls Councilman Vincent Gentile and Staten Island DA Daniel Donovan will face off for the 11th District seat in a live, televised debate tomorrow, April 14, at the College of Staten Island.

The one-hour debate, cosponsored by NY1 News and the Staten Island Advance, will be moderated by NY1 political anchor Errol Louis and will feature a three-member panel: NY1 political reporter Courtney Gross, Staten Island Advance senior opinion writer Tom Wrobleski, and political reporter Rachel Shapiro.

Green Party candidate James Lane has been excluded from the event on the grounds that he is “not viable,” prompting a petition to circulate urging the two news outlets to include the third-party candidate.

Tune in at 7pm to find out where these candidates stand on issues like immigration, social security, and storm resiliency and more.

Here’s how to catch the debate:

1. Go To Staten Island

If you have not yet grabbed tickets for the live event, you’re out of luck: they are sold out.  But hey, who wants to trek out to Staten Island and pay that crazy expensive Verrazano-Narrows Bridge toll for an hour long event anyway?

If you did manage to score some advance tickets, the event will start at 7pm in the Williamson Theatre in the Center for the Arts at the College of Staten Island, 2800 Victory Boulevard, New Springville, Staten Island.

2. Stream It At Home

Time Warner subscribers can catch the debate on NY1 News channel starting 7pm

Not a Time Warner subscriber? No problem. You can stream the debate live at NY1.com and on SILive.com. Watch it at home solo, or invite a few friends over, order a pizza from Da Vinci’s, and host a viewing party.

The special election has been called for May 5.
