How Long Does It Take To Clear A Downed Lamp Post?

Neighbor Donald Loggins sent in the above photo of a fallen lamp post on the corner of Coney Island and Foster Avenues at the beginning of this month, that he said he first noticed down on January 31. Lo and behold, when we walked by this morning, it was still there!

The lamp was clearly hit by a car that lost its lights and fender in the crash. As Coney Island Avenue is well known for its scary driving and large number of collisions, the downed lamp means more than just a mess–it’s also two fewer clear crossing signals for local pedestrians.
