How Has Your Verizon Service Been Lately In Ditmas Park West?

A frustrated neighbor wrote in about a lack of Verizon service throughout his apartment building that’s been going on for over two weeks. He says:

I live in 570 Westminster and our Verizon land line service has been out since Dec 16. Of course, this also cuts your web access if that’s part of your phone service.
There are many others in this building complex of 200 apartments with same problem. They keep promising resolution in 2 days and it never happens. So much for their reliability claims.
In fact they crossed my line with another tenant a few days ago and stopped forwarding my calls to my cell. Supposedly the issue is a “cable” in the street – but 2+ weeks?
Perhaps others in the area are also experiencing this?

Community Board 14 has volunteered to step in and help with the problem–but have you had land line and internet service problems around Westminster and Newkirk as of late, and have you found Verizon to be responsive?
