How Did Discarded Wood From The Riegelmann Boardwalk End Up In An Italian Art Fair? [Video]

A new video produced by BRIC TV explores how junked wood planks from the Riegelmann Boardwalk, supposedly destroyed by Superstorm Sandy, ended up as a beautifully restored indoor walkway at this year’s World’s Fair in Milan, Italy. Revelations that the scrapped wood beams had turned up at the Italian art festival angered many boardwalk advocates who felt the planks had been prematurely discarded by city officials — who are working to replace much of the boardwalk with concrete and recycled materials.

The BRIC TV segment examines how the wood beams were brought back to life as art and delves into the controversy surround the effort to remake an iconic piece of Americana.
