Hot Dog! Three Chances To Support Animal Organizations At Fun Local Fundraisers
We’ve got several events coming up in the neighborhood where you can show how much of an animal person you are — while drinking and hanging out with other animal lovers!
Three terrific animal organizations will benefit from fundraisers in Park Slope in the next week, and if you’re interested in supporting what they do, there are a few ways you can help out:
Badass Brooklyn Fall Festival and Fundraiser
When: Sunday, September 14, 11am-5pm
Where: President Street at 3rd Avenue
What: The rescue organization‘s biggest fundraising event of the year will feature tons of great food and drink (both boozy and virgin), music, sweet booths, raffle prizes, activities for all ages, and lots of 2- and 4-legged friends! It’s free, but advanced donation tickets are for sale, and buying them can get you beers, swag, raffle tickets, and more — and it also means you can make a donation even if you can’t make it to the event!
Park Slope for Pets End-of-Summer Pawty
When: Wednesday, September 17, 7-9pm
Where: The Gate, 321 5th Avenue
What: The newly launched website is hosting a free event for local pet owners to connect over pups and beers! Professional trainers Anthony Newman of Calm Energy Dog Training and Charles Henderson of the Charles Henderson Animal Rescue will be there to answer questions about training and obedience, and The Gate will donate a significant portion of proceeds from sales of Weyerbacher Last Chance IPA to the Charles Henderson Animal Rescue (which you can also donate to online). Plus, 25 lucky guests will receive a treat bag filled with pet goodies generously donated by local businesses.
Sean Casey Animal Rescue Benefit Concert
When: Thursday, September 18, 7pm
Where: The Rock Shop, 249 4th Avenue
What: Come out to hear The Paul Anthony Band, The Alan Merrill Trio, Victor V. Gurbo and Co., Orphan Jane, and The Rock ‘N’ Roll Johnny Band. Tickets are $12, available in advance, and will go toward supporting the shelter — which you can donate to whether or not you can make the show, or maybe even adopt a pet, like dapper Casper, pictured above!
