‘Hot Dog’ Soldier Surprises Wife With Return Home During Cyclones Game
A heroic soldier surprised his wife and children with an early return to America after his second tour of duty in Afghanistan. The New York Daily News is reporting that Sergeant Shawn Jamieson managed to pull off the surprise disguised in a hot dog outfit during last night’s Brooklyn Cyclones game.
The video above, courtesy of the Brooklyn Cylcones YouTube channel, captures the wonderful moment when Jamieson, 26, undercover in a hot dog mascot race, sheds his costume and embraces his wife Courtney and their two young daughters. Courtney, who expected her husband to return a month later, expressed her shock to the Daily News:
Courtney Jamieson, 23, had no idea her hubby was hiding in the hot dog costume until he took it off in front of the crowd and asked, “Are you surprised?”
“Yes!” Courtney answered, covering her face with her hands. “What are you doing here?”
She said her husband wasn’t expected home until next month.
“I was shocked,” she told the Daily News. “I’m freaking out. I don’t know what to say.”
Also on hand for the happy reunion were 25 other members of Jamieson’s family. Congratulations to the entire Jamieson family on Sgt. Jamieson’s safe return. Great stuff.
