Historic Leske’s Bakery Opening Second Location at 588 5th Ave

The famous Leske’s Scandinavian Bakery in Bay Ridge will be opening a second location at 588 5th Avenue, the space last occupied by Sweet Treasures Bakery.

Leske’s has been a Brooklyn institution since 1961 (minus a short period between 2011-2012 when it changed owners), and with over 5,700 Facebook followers, it’s a pretty safe bet that their traditional Scandinavian baking, Danish, B&W cookies, and Brooklyn blackout cakes are going to be something worth exploring.

According to yesterday’s Facebook post, the South Slope location will be opening up before Valentine’s Day, so we’d start hitting the gym now. Once Leske’s arrives, all diet bets are off.
