Hinsch’s Reopens After Being Saved By New Owners

by Whiskeygonebad via Flickr

As of yesterday, iconic Bay Ridge soda fountain Hinsch’s has officially reopened under new management.

Neighbors had assumed the worst in October when John Logue, the landmark luncheonette’s former owner, announced his retirement. The decision came on the heels of the eatery being shuttered by DOH officials in late September.

Patrons were ecstatic after learning that a group of civic-minded investors – including Skin Flint’s co-owner Gerard Bell – had decided to purchase the business, redeeming hamburger wishes and egg cream dreams for future generations.

From the photos, it certainly appears that Brooklyn BP Marty Markowitz approves of the new Hinsch’s offerings.
