Are you looking to save a precious little life, and get your face painted? Look no further than the second annual Adoptapalooza happening this weekend in Prospect Park.

This Saturday afternoon, August 6, the Alliance for NYC’s Animals is holding a mega pet-adoption event where over 150 dogs and cats from more than a dozen rescue organizations will be available to fall in love with. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of frolicking and fun with happy animals looking for a happy home.

Personalized pet tags will be given away, as well as temporary tattoos. Face painters will be there to paint faces for free, and you can have your family’s picture taken with the newest addition to the clan — also for free.

The Department of Health (DOH) will be there to provide dog licenses. New York City Emergency Management, and Ready New York will be there to give pet owners information about preparing for emergencies.

The main sponsor of the event is the Petco Foundation.

The event starts at noon, and will be on through rain or shine. It will take place in Prospect Park Southwest at 15th Street and Prospect Park West.

Here are some of the furry friends that will be available this weekend:

Arliss (aka Lou-Lou) is an inquisitive 1.5-year-old. Though she doesn’t like being held, she loves being petted and will play with you for hours. (Courtesy of Facebook)
