Here’s Every Proposal On The Participatory Budget Ballots in Brooklyn Next Week

It’s Participatory Budgeting (PB) voting season! PB is a democratic process where the community decides how to spend a part of the public budget allocated to their district. This year ten of Brooklyn’s Councilmembers – Levin, Reynoso, Cumbo, Cornegy, Menchaca, Lander, Eugene, Williams, Treyger, and Yeger – will be taking part and allocating at least $1 million each from their budgets.

Starting on Saturday, April 7, residents of their districts as young as 11 years old will be able to vote for as many as five of their favorite proposals. The projects with the most votes will get funding until all the money available is allocated and put in the June budget.

This is the third year that a $1 million contribution from Borough President Eric Adams will be apportioned equally to winning projects from the votes conducted by the 10 council members in the borough who are participating in PB this year.

To find your voting site, click here. The kick-off event is on Sat. April 7 at the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket at 10 am.

Here are the project proposals for each participating district you can vote for beginning next week. Just scroll down to your district.
