Artist and neighbor Carlos Pinto and the Brooklyn Recycle Project will be working on the mosaic mural at the Newkirk Plaza passageway on Saturday, March 9 from about 10am to 1pm, and he’s inviting anyone interested to come and help out.
He wants this to be a piece for and by the community — if you can’t help out tomorrow, you could just drop off materials they can use in the mosaic (a broken mug, a plate you don’t use anymore, tiles left after a bathroom reno). Or, just say hello and see how it’s progressing!
Well, scratch that. Due to the weather, they’re rescheduling. We’ll update this post when they’ve picked a new date.
