Help The Police Crack Three Area Soon-To-Be Cold Cases: Have You Seen The Owl’s Head Park Murderer?

Weeks, if not months, have passed since the occurence of some of these crimes, and the police are still seeking community assistance in tracking down suspects. Have you seen any of these perps? These are just three of southern Brooklyn’s recent unsolved burglaries and assaults — any tips on the matter could help close these cases.

Summer shoplifter

Back on August 14 at 2:55 p.m., an unidentified Black male kicked open the front door to a grocery store at 3204 Mermaid Avenue, gaining entry to the location. The individual then entered the store and took a bottle of beer, before fleeing the premises.

The individual was last seen wearing light blue jeans, a black t-shirt, a blue baseball hat, white sneakers and a multi-color jean jacket.

5th Avenue Robber

More recently, on Friday, September 9, at 5:20 p.m., a 66-year-old female victim was approached by an unidentified female in the vicinity of 86th Street and 5th Avenue, when the female assaulted the victim and forcibly removed $150. The female, described as a Hispanic, 20 to 25-year-old weighing 115-130Ibs, then fled southbound on 5th Avenue. She was last seen wearing a black tank top and blue jeans.

Murder in Owl’s Head

Lastly, on September 29th, 35-year-old Bay Ridge resident Jennifer Cohen was found dead, with head and face trauma, in Owl’s Head Park. The police are still searching for a man who was captured by a surveillance camera walking alongside Cohen at approximately 2:45 a.m.

The male suspect is described by police as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 175 pounds, with a black backpack. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with white trim, black shorts with white trim, dark colored sneakers and a dark colored baseball cap.
