Help Police Identify Man Who Snatched A 71-Year-Old Woman’s Purse

CONEY ISLAND – The NYPD is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the man seen in the video below in connection to a purse snatching earlier this month.

At approximately 11am on Wednesday, November 8, police say that a 71-year-old woman was walking toward her car near Shell Road and Surf Avenue when the suspect approached her. He started a conversation with the woman before shoving her to the ground and grabbing her purse, according to police. The suspect fled the scene on foot to the nearby Luna Park Houses.

The woman’s purse contained $220 and various identification and bank cards, police say. She suffered pain and bruising but refused medical attention at the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a black male last seen wearing all black clothing.
