Help LONCH MYLS Raise Money For Trips At The Cutest Bake Sale Ever
When neighbor Judy suggested we take a trip to Cortelyou and Argyle with the email subject line “Adorable bake sale,” we didn’t even know what we were in for. A few of the best (and smallest) salespeople we’ve ever seen are currently on the corner raising money for LONCH MYLS, a project that started with a clothing line and has expanded to a summer day camp and, hopefully, after school program in the future.
MYLS stands for “Make Your Life Succssful,” and these kids are well on their way to doing it. Treats like cookies, cupcakes, and lemonade range $1-2, but really, the service alone is worth more than that.
This summer, trips are being planned for the Bronx Zoo, Museum of Natural History, Luna Park, an aquarium, and more. This LONCHer said she’s most excited about the aquarium, but doesn’t want to go to the one on Coney Island.
The program is being based out of the downstairs space of Z Spot Salon (1017 Church Ave. between E 10th St. and Stratford Rd.) from 8:30am-6pm Monday-Friday, and aside from the above field trips, will offer crafts, games, music, swimming and other sports, movies, and more.
Go before it rains any more, and help LONCH MYLS have an awesome summer! And for more information about the program, call Chinasa at 347-457-0755, Jessica at 516-902-9600, or Isaiah at 646-499-0720.
