Help Clean Up The Neighborhood On June 1
Annual Graffiti Cleanup

Meet some neighbors and help make Ditmas Park a more beautiful place to live at the annual graffiti clean-up and neighborhood beautification event on Saturday, June 1.

Organized by the Church Avenue Business Improvement District and the Flatbush Development Corporation, there will be a few meeting points. The first two are for people who want to do a Flatbush-wide clean-up, while the Downtown Natural meeting point is for people who want to focus on Church Ave. Volunteers should meet at 9am at:

Cortelyou Road: meet outside the Flatbush Food Co-op on Cortelyou at Marlborough Rd.

Newkirk Avenue: meet outside the FDC’s office on Newkirk between E 16th/17th.

Church Avenue: meet outside Downtown Natural on Church at E 17th St.

This is a family-friendly event — kids can help out, too, as long as they’re supervised by an adult the entire time, and the adult signs a waiver. There will be a BBQ for volunteers following the event at 2pm!

We’ve heard a lot of complaints about litter and a general lack of cleanliness in the area over the past few months. We know this isn’t the end-all solution, but it is an opportunity to do something that helps make the neighborhood a better place for everyone to live in, and hopefully helps spread some of that respect and pride for our home.

Please register in advance so they know how many people to expect by contacting the BID at info@churchavenue.org or calling 718-282-2500, x63237 or the FDC at 718-859-3800 x209.
