Help Choose Fort Greene Community Projects To Fund With MARP
The Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership (MARP) is gearing up for another round of their Community Grants program and is recruiting local residents to join the 2015 Community Grants Committee, which will help the merchants group “identify groups in Fort Greene who need small grants to support healthy eating and active living activities.”
As noted on their blog:
Last year, $10,000 was dispersed to 4 projects: two local community gardens, the Jammin’ Jumpers Double Dutch program and a local school garden project. Another round of $10,000 is available for 2015. Help us find projects in need of small grants! Applications will be available June 9th, 2015.
The Committee’s responsibility is to review grant applications and make recommendations to grand funder Brooklyn Community Foundation.
Members are volunteer, although stipends are available to participants.
