Head to Prospect Park for Midwinter Recess
Midwinter recess is here (or what’s left of it, after Sandy blew the later part of the week away), and Prospect Park is at the ready with some fun and exciting activities to help keep your tyke entertained.
Have the kids ever asked how their favorite Prospect Park animals survive during the winter months? The Audubon Nature Center will answer that question and more this Monday and Tuesday, through games, science activities, and Naturalist led tours. 1pm – 3pm. Admission is free.
Come in from the cold at Lefferts Historic House from 1pm – 3pm to see how Brooklyn kids entertained themselves in days of yore. Learn how to play Nine-Man Morris, and make your own playing board to take home. Suggested admission is $3 for adults. Kids 16 and under are free.
Bundle up, and visit the residents of the Prospect Park Zoo, open today and tomorrow from 10am – 4:30pm, and be sure to check out the recently renovated Discovery Center. Sea Lion feedings are also scheduled for 11:30am, 2pm, and 4pm. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children 5-12, and free for children under 3.
