Happy Independence Day! Here’s what’s opened or closed for the July 4th holiday.

Don’t forget, some city services are closed on Thursday. Here’s what you need to know, via nyc.gov:
- City government offices, including the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), courts, IDNYC enrollment centers, and libraries will be closed on Thursday for the holiday.
- Mail will not be delivered on Thursday.
- Parking meters and alternate side parking are suspended on Thursday. Click here for a list of street closures for the fireworks celebrations.
- There will be no garbage, organics, or recycling pickup or street cleaning on Thursday, July 4. If Thursday is your regular garbage or organics collection day, put these items out after 4pm on Thursday. If Thursday is your regular recycling day, your recycling will be picked up next week on Thursday, July 11. Click here for more info.
- New York City subways and buses will operate on a Saturday schedule on Thursday, July 4. There will be increased subway service on the 4, 5, A, C, and F subway lines before and after the Macy’s Fireworks Celebration. The following bus routes may be affected by street closures or detours: B25, B61, B62, B63, B67, B69, BM1, BM2, BM3, and BM4. Go to mta.info for more information.
- The NYC Ferry will operate on a weekend schedule on both Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5. Ferries will bypass DUMBO/Brooklyn Bridge Park—Pier 1 and Atlantic Avenue/Pier 6 all day on July 4 due to the Macy’s Fireworks Celebration and service on all routes will end early.
