Georgia Read, the owner of Hamilton’s (2826 Fort Hamilton Parkway), let us know that they have their final meeting at the Department of City Planning tomorrow, January 7, for the approval of their rezoning application – which, if given the ultimate green light by the City Council,  will allow them to open a 45-seat sidewalk café.

“We have already received an incredible amount of support from the community, but we are at the home stretch,” Georgia wrote to us. “We have put an enormous amount of time, energy and money to provide Windsor Terrace and Kensington with an outdoor eating and drinking space.”

“Sitting outside and eating and drinking is one of the great pleasures of life that most New Yorkers can only do in public spaces,” Georgia continued. “The day the patio closed was a very sad day for us and the entire neighborhood.”

The meeting will take place tomorrow from 10-11am at 22 Reade Street in Manhattan. If you’d like to attend the meeting in support of the patio, Georgia asked that you let her know by emailing georgiajread@gmail.com.

Hamilton’s outdoor space has already landed the backing of Community Board 7. Provided City Planning gives the thumbs up, the application will move to the Council for the final yea or nay.

If all goes well, Georgia said they hope to open the patio in the spring.
