Cops Seek Gunman Who Terrorized Woman In Flatbush Robbery
A masked robber, who held a female shopper at gunpoint and made off with several thousand dollars in Flatbush this weekend, is being sought by police.
The 64-year-old woman was forced to stand with a gun to her head while the robber obtained almost $4,000 from her, and a clerk and store owner at the Nostrand Discount 99 & Up store, at Nostrand Avenue and Cortelyou Road on Saturday around 5pm, police sources told the New York Daily News.
The Daily News reports that the gunman threatened to kill the woman:
“He pointed the gun on the lady’s head. She started to scream, and cry a lot,” Belony said.
The bandit said, “If you don’t put all the money in the counter, I’m going to blow her head (off)!” Belony recounted. “It was scary. He said, ‘Don’t move! Put the money over there!’” Belony said.
Belony said he took $500 from his pocket, and the female customer handed over another $250. The cashier put in $3,000.
“We wanted to save her life. I was scared. We were all scared,” Belony said.
The gunman, dressed in black, fled and is at large, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
