The weekend is here, and we’d love to help you have a great one just blocks from your home. Whether you’re looking to take historic house tours, get your feet dirty at a grape stomp, or eat free local clams — this is your spot for the hottest weekend events in (and around) Ditmas Park. It’s Open House NY weekend, with tours of historic and exceptional sites all around New York City, with many happening in our own backyard — including the Kings Theater. Check out what tours are still available here.

Thriller at Lola Star’s Dreamland Roller Disco at Lefrak Skating Center
When: Friday, October 14 from 7:30pm to 10pm.
Where: Lefrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park.
What: Get out your Halloween costumes early for Thriller & scary tunes at Lola Star’s Dreamland Roller Disco, with retro DJ sets and prizes for roller dancing skills. (This event is 21+)
How Much: $18 per person

Charlie Burnham & Sky Steele, Brandon Ross, & Gabriel Birnbaum at The Owl
When: Friday, October 14 at 8pm (doors at 7:30pm).
Where: The Owl Music Parlour, 497 Rogers Avenue between Midwood and Maple Streets.
What: Check out the multi-instrumentalist lineup at the Owl music parlor tonight!
How Much: $10 suggested donation.

Bob Weir at the Kings Theater
When: Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15, 7:30pm both nights.
Where: The Kings Theater, 1027 Flatbush Avenue between Tilden Avenue and Duryea Place.
What: The Campfire Tour featuring Aaron Dessner, Bryan Devendorf, Scott Devendorf & Josh Kaufman.

Saturday:

Grape Stomp celebration at Little Mo Wines in PLG
When: Saturday, October 15 from 12pm to 5pm.
Where: Little Mo Wines, 1125 Nostrand Avenue at the corner of Midwood Street.
What: Help local PLG wine shop celebrate its one-year anniversary with an old-fashioned grape stomp in Brooklyn! Booties provided, and delicious refreshments served.
How Much: Free

PS 130’s 6th annual Fall Festival
When: Saturday, October 15 from 10am to 3pm.
Where: PS 130 schoolyard, Fort Hamilton Parkway at East 5th Street.
What: Everyone is welcome at the schoolyard for pony rides, a haunted house, bounce houses, pumpkin decorating, temporary tattoos, LEGO tables, crafts, baked goods, healthy snacks and face painting. Raffle prizes include gifts from local businesses: The Gilded Grape Wine Shop, Hamilton’s, Brancaccio’s Food Shop, and more.

Flatbush Tenant Coalition at the Health Fair
When: Saturday, October 15 from 10am to 4pm.
Where: St. Paul’s Church, 157 St. Paul’s Place at Church Avenue.
What: The Flatbush Tenant Coalition will be offering information about tenant rights and organizing at the annual community health fair. “Come and speak with us if you have questions about your lease, your rent history, how to get repairs, and more,” says FTC.
How Much: Free

Book talk with local young author
When: Saturday, October 15 at 3:30pm.
Where: Cortelyou Public Library, 1305 Cortelyou Road at Argyle Road.
What: Join 9-year-old Brooklyn author Anaya Willabus for a reading of her published books.
How Much: Free

Algebra & Friends at Bar Chord
When: Saturday, October 15 at 10pm.
Where: Bar Chord, 1008 Cortelyou Road, between Coney Island Avenue and Stratford Road
What: Enjoy an evening of Afro-Carribean, Reggae, and big fun with Algebra and friends at Bar Chord.
How Much: Free show, but don’t forget to buy drinks at the bar.

Sunday:

Cortelyou Greenmarket Clambake
When: Sunday, October 16 at 11am.
Where: Cortelyou Road between Argyle and Rugby Roads.
What: Cortelyou greenmarkets‘ much-anticipated annual clambake will take place this Sunday, Oct. 16th. Fisherman Rob from Seatuck fish will bring and prepare fresh Long Island clams and mussels, and give away bowls of them for free! 11am until the clams are gone — which we’re guessing will be pretty darn fast. Check GrowNYC for any last minute changes to the market schedule.

Open House NY in Prospect Park
When: Sunday, October 16 at 11am.
Where: LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park.
What: Join Open House NY on a tour of the center, a National American Institute of Architects award-winning project. Roller skating will be open during this tour! RSVP required.
How Much: Free

Opening party for the Bonnie Clubhouse & alumni game
When: Sunday, October 16. The game begins at 1pm at the Parade Grounds, the opening party starts at 4pm.
Where: The Bonnie Clubhouse, 1221 Church Avenue at Argyle Road.
What: After renovations, the Bonnie’s Youth Group will open its new clubhouse on Church Avenue near the Parade Grounds. The Ansel M. “Smitty” Smith Memorial Alumni Game at Parade Grounds and then Grand Opening of our newly renovated Bonnie Club House. Refreshments will be served. When: Sunday, October 16 at 4pm.
Where: 814 Flatbush Avenue, between Caton Avenue and Linden Boulevard.

Pastapalooza at Lea
When: Sunday, October 16–Tuesday, October 18.
Where: Lea, at 1022 Cortelyou Road at Stratford Road.
