A Glimpse Of Newkirk Plaza’s Past
We noticed the awning revamp at 6 Newkirk has finished, giving us a chance to see the neat old sign for the Newkirk Plaza Bootery at the space that’s now the Plaza Hair Salon.
Besides being the Bootery, 6 Newkirk Plaza has also played home to Waldell Hobbies in the 1960s – when it was also near Paul’s Barber Shop (which remains to this day as Leon’s Fantasy Cut). You can read more about the history of 6 Newkirk, and the Newkirk Plaza here.
